Paris Olympics: Indian Men’s And Women’s Archery Teams Enter Quarterfinals Of Main Event

India today started its Paris Olympics campaign on a bright note a day ahead of the Opening Ceremony with the Men’s Team clinching 3rd spot and the women’s team securing a place in the ranking round to seal a spot in the quarterfinal stage.

The Indian men’s archery team has made it to the quarter-finals with 2013 points. Dhiraj Bommadevara put on an incredible show and finished at the fourth spot, Tarundeep Rai was 14th while Pravin Jadhav was in the 39th position.

The women’s archery Team scored 1983 points. In the individual round, Ankita finished 11th, Bhajan got 22nd rank and Deepika finished 23rd.

In the quarterfinals, India will face the winner of the last-16 stage match between hosts France and the Netherlands.

The remaining stages of the event will be held from the 28th of this month to the 4th of next month. After the ranking rounds, the competition will shift to a matchplay phase.

The Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony will be held tomorrow from 11 PM IST onwards.
