India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the on-going heat wave conditions will reduce gradually over Northwest, Central and East India during the next 2 days.
IMD added that heat wave to severe heat wave conditions will continue over parts of Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Bihar and Jharkhand today.
These conditions will also continue over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand and Andhra Pradesh today. IMD reported that maximum temperature will fall by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over Northwest and Central India, and by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius over East India during next two days.
The weather agency has also forecast likely light to moderate rainfall over North-East India and West Bengal during next 6 days. Similar conditions are expected to prevail over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Chhattisgarh during the next 4 days.
In South India, these conditions will be present over Kerala, Lakshadweep, Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the next 6 days. In North India, rainfall and thunderstorms will descend over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during the next 5 days.
