ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Cricket: Afghanistan Defeats Over Australia By 21 Runs

In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Cricket, Afghanistan orchestrated a shocking defeat over Australia by 21 runs in Super 8 fixture at Kingstown, this morning.

Put in to bat first, Afghanistan posted a total of 148 for 5 in 20 overs. In response to chase down the target of 149 runs, Australia was bowled out for 127 in 19.2 overs.

Afghan all-rounder, Gulbadin Naib took 4 crucial wickets and was adjudged the Player of the Match award. Kingstown is the capital of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, an island country in the eastern Caribbean.

Today, USA will lock horns with England at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados at 8 PM IST.

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Cricket: India Secures Commanding 50 Runs Victory Over Bangladesh

In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Cricket, India secured a commanding 50 runs victory over Bangladesh at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua last night. Put in to bat first, India posted a formidable total of 196 for 5 in 20 overs. For, India, Hardik Pandya scored 50 runs in just 27 balls, while Rishabh Pant made 37 off 28 deliveries.

In response, Bangladesh managed to score only 146 for 8 in their 20 overs. Hardik Pandya’s all-round performance, which included a quickfire fifty and a wicket, earned him the Player of the Match award.
With this win, India has positioned itself closer to a spot in the semifinals of the T20 World Cup. India will qualify for the semifinals if Afghanistan fail to beat Australia this morning. Meanwhile, Bangladesh has been eliminated from the tournament.
