Women’s Cricket: Final T20I Between India And South Africa To Played In Chennai Today

Indian Women’s Cricket Team will take on South Africa in the third and final T20 match of the series at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai this evening. The match will begin at 07:00 PM.

South Africa is currently leading the series 1-nil after they had won the first match by 12 runs at the same venue. The second match was called off due to rain.

In a video message shared by the official X handle of BCCI Women, India’s vice-captain Smriti Mandhana has urged supporters in Chennai to come to the stadium in large numbers to extend their support for the Women in Blue.

T20I: India And South Africa Match Called Off Due To Rain

In Women’s Cricket, the match between India and South Africa has been called off due to rain, at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai. Earlier, put into bat, South Africa posted 177 runs for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Tazmin Brits was the top scorer with 52 runs in 39 balls, followed by Anneke Bosch with 40 off 32 balls. For India, Deepti Sharma and Pooja Vastrakar clinched 2 wickets each, while Shreyanka Patil and Radha Yadav scalped one wicket each.

However, a heavy downpour during the innings break forced the umpires to declare the match abandoned without a ball being bowled in the second inning.

This result ensures South Africa a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. The third and last match of the series will be played on the 9th of July at the same venue.
