Anti-Quota Protests: Around 315 Indian students who were stranded in Bangladesh following the anti-quota stir safely returned on Sunday through the Akhaura Integrated Check Posts in Agartala and Srimantapur in Sonamura district of Tripura.
Inspector General of BSF Tripura Frontiers, Patel Piyush Purushottam Das, asserted that the BSF is maintaining high vigilance and has mobilized additional forces along the 856 km Indo-Bangla border in Tripura.
The Border Security Force, in coordination with the Border Guards of Bangladesh, is facilitating the safe return of Indian students back home. Of the 315 students who arrived today, 152 came through the Akhaura Integrated Check post in Agartala. Among them, 86 were Indian students, and the remaining 66 were Nepali.
Additionally, 162 Indian students crossed over from the Srimantapur Integrated Check Post in Sonamura district, while 1 student returned from Kailashahar in Unakoti district.
