Karnataka and New Zealand Forge Partnership to Enhance Cultural Exchange and Educational Opportunities

The Karnataka State Higher Education Council (KSHEC) has entered into an Education Cooperation Arrangement (ECA) with Education New Zealand, aiming to foster collaboration, research, and knowledge exchange in emerging educational trends. Facilitated by the Government of Karnataka, this partnership is dedicated to showcasing educational offerings globally through sharing best practices.

KG Chandrashekara, Executive Director of KSHEC, and Lisa Futschek, General Manager, International of Education New Zealand, signed the ECA, marking a significant step towards enhancing educational opportunities and cross-cultural exchange in Karnataka’s academic sphere.

The signing ceremony, attended by MC Sudhakar, Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education, Government of Karnataka, and other dignitaries, witnessed the engagement of representatives from eight universities in New Zealand and eleven Karnataka State Public Universities. These representatives engaged in discussions to identify mutual areas of interest, paving the way for potential collaborations in academic and research activities across STEM, Social Sciences, Hospitality, Tourism, and Multimedia.

Through this alliance, the Karnataka Higher Education Department and Education New Zealand aim to explore international partnerships and collaborations to enrich the global perspectives of students and faculties. This collaboration will also facilitate joint research initiatives to tackle pressing challenges in education while promoting the exchange of best practices and trends.

MC Sudhakar expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasizing its role in promoting excellence in higher education. Lisa Futschek echoed this sentiment, highlighting the shared vision of fostering internationalization of education and mobility initiatives for students and faculty.

Both entities are committed to empowering students and educators through leveraging collective expertise and resources, ultimately contributing to a transformative education landscape and fostering opportunities for collaboration and learning between India and New Zealand.
