The Russian Aerospace Forces struck a major logistics centre of the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the past 24 hours, where Western-supplied weapons were stored.
The Russian Ministry of Defense today said that the centre was used for the accumulation, storage, and redistribution of weapons, including missile systems provided by Western countries to Kiev.
It said, the Russian Battlegroup has also repelled five counterattacks by Ukrainian troops.
In Russia, the death toll from yesterday’s twin attacks in the cities of Derbent and Makhachkala in the North Caucasus increased, which included 15 police officers, a priest, and a security guard.
Six of the attackers were dead, and police are hunting for others. The governor of the state, Sergei Melikov, described the attacks as the latest assault on fraternity and multiethnic unity.
Dagestan’s Interior Ministry said a group of armed men shot at a synagogue and a church in the city of Derbent, located on the Caspian Sea. Simultaneously, reports appeared about an attack on a church and a traffic police post in the Dagestan capital, Makhachkala.
Russia’s National Anti-Terrorist Committee described the incidents as terrorist attacks in a predominantly Muslim region with a history of armed insurgency.
